    Perry County Sun, 22 May 1952 reports "William Clampitt, 85, Died May 15 Near Cedar Fork.

    Funeral Services Sunday at Cedar Fork Methodist Church.

    William H. Clampitt, 85 years old, died at 2:45 o'clock last Thursday afternoon at his home near Cedar Fork, Western Perry County community. He had been stricken with a stroke of paralysis the previous day. The body was in state at Bey Funeral Home until 1:30 P.M. Sunday, when the funeral was held to Cedar Fork Methodist Church for services at 2 o'clock by the Rev. O. D. Niswonger of Perryville. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

    Mr. Clampitt was born in Illinois on August 20, 1866. His parents were John and Elizabeth (nee Kieth) Clampitt. He was married to Miss Mary Robinson, who preceded him in death in February, 1909.

    Three of the four children born of the marriage, survive. They are: John Clampitt, Perryville Rural Route 4; Mrs. John Counts, Perryville; and Clyde Clampitt, St. Louis. There are 15 grandchildren.

    A brother, Charles Clampitt, lives on Perryville Rural Route 4, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Mix, on Route 1, Godfrey, Ill."
