Gabriel L. Mc New Services for Gabriel L. Mc New 1849 thru 1907 Submitted by (Mary Mc new ) Poster #-40- Gabriel L. Mc New Born: August 11th, 1849 Died: October 29th, 1907 Gabriel L. Mc New Gabriel L. Mc New, aged 58 years, a resident and merchant of East Flat River, died at his home, Tuesday, October 29th, 1907, after an illness of five weeks of Typhoid fever. Mr. Mc New was born August 11th, 1849 in Perry county, where he lived prior to his coming to the Lead Belt nine years ago. During a part of the time since locating in Flat River he has been engaged in the grocery and restaurant business. He was a well known and highly respected citizen. He leaves a widow and eight children; four sons Arthur, Charles, Lawrence and Herman; and four daughters-Mrs. J.W. Moore, of Farmington, and Misses Zillia, Bessie and Judith. His remains were taken Wednesday afternoon to his old home near Perryville for burial. The deceased was a member of the Red Men lodge. Mr. Mc New leaves many friends who join the Lead Belt News in extending sympathy to the family.
